<p>Ein <b>Heterotetramer</b> ist ein Protein, das vier nicht-<a href="Kovalent" class="mw-redirect" title="Kovalent">kovalent</a> verbundene <a href="Protein-Untereinheit" title="Protein-Untereinheit">Protein-Untereinheiten</a> besitzt, die nicht alle identisch sind.<sup id="cite_ref-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Ein <a href="Homotetramer" title="Homotetramer">Homotetramer</a> beinhaltet hingegen vier identische Untereinheiten.<sup id="cite_ref-2" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Beide zählen zu den <a href="Tetramer" title="Tetramer">Tetrameren</a>.
